NEW IN DEVELOPMENTDecorating the Doughnut
A playful card workshop for 4 to 8 people: a taste of ten collage workshops, how they connect, and which one to do first.
Decorating the Doughnut is a participatory workshop for discovering and connecting the big issues explored by workshops like the Climate Fresk: climate, biodiversity, food, mobility, digital technology, water, health and several more.
New to these workshops? This one gives you an overview and helps you see how our needs — eating, getting around, housing ourselves, communicating, staying healthy — are tied to the way we live and to the limits of the planet.
Already taken part in one or more? You can put what you know into perspective, connect topics that are usually covered separately, and find the workshops that will take you further.
As a group, you explore cards drawn from a dozen partner workshops and place them on a “Doughnut” inspired by Kate Raworth’s model. Its three rings connect human needs, the way we meet them today and the planetary boundaries. The workshop brings out the interactions between our activities, their impacts and the possibilities for change.
You’ll leave with a more systemic view of socio-ecological issues, concrete links between different topics, landmarks to better situate what you know, and a clearer idea of which workshops to explore next.
Collage workshops are card games for small groups: you piece together how climate, food, digital technology or biodiversity actually work. Each explains its own piece, and none of them shows how the pieces fit. Decorating the Doughnut brings their cards to one table: your plate, your screens and your car draw on the same fresh water and the same energy. You leave with the connections that matter, and a path of your own: where to start, and what comes next.
